Get to know the Big Island of Hawaii
With a land area of just over 4,000 square miles, Hawaii Island, also known as the Big Island, is the youngest and largest of the main Hawaiian Islands.
Home to internationally acclaimed green, black and white sand beaches as well as the tallest mountain on Earth, the Big Island is a place of diversity and contrast, both geologically and culturally. Residents and visitors to our island frequently speak of experiencing a strong connection to the 'aina, the land, which is not surprising, considering the powerful awareness of the forces of nature at work one can't help but experience here.
Aloha and e komo mai. We look forward to introducing you to Hawaii Island!
